Steam Families is a feature that combines Steam Family Sharing and Family View, allowing users to create a virtual family group to share their game libraries. This guide will walk you through setting up and managing a Steam Family so you can enjoy gaming with your loved ones. First, let’s learn more about this new Steam feature.

What is Steam Families?

Steam Families allows users to share their game libraries with up to five other family members or trusted friends. Everyone in the family can access and play games from each other’s libraries, provided the games support family sharing.

Key Features:

  • Shared Game Libraries: All family members can access each other’s games.
  • Individual Saves and Achievements: Each member can create their own saves and earn achievements without affecting others.
  • Parental Controls: Parents can monitor playtime and set restrictions for younger family members.

Steam has had family sharing for years, but the revamped “Steam Families” brings significant improvements over the legacy family sharing options. Below, we’ve outlined the differences more clearly.

How Steam Families Differs from the Previous Family Sharing Feature?

Steam Families is a significant upgrade from the older Steam Family Sharing feature, merging functionalities with new enhancements that improve user experience and control. Here are the key differences:

1. Family Structure and Membership

  • Steam Families: Allows users to create a family group with up to six members, including five additional family members. Each member has distinct accounts, save files, and achievements.
  • Family Sharing: Previously, users could share their entire library with up to five accounts, but only one user could access a game at a time. If the owner was playing a game, others couldn’t access it.

2. Game Access and Simultaneous Play

  • Steam Families: Members can play different games from the shared library simultaneously. If two members want to play the same game, at least one must own a separate copy.
  • Family Sharing: Only one user could access a game at a time. If the game owner was playing, others were locked out.

3. Parental Controls

  • Steam Families: Introduces comprehensive parental controls, enabling adults to manage children’s access to games, set playtime limits, and monitor gaming activity. Children can also request game purchases directly from adults.
  • Family Sharing: Lacked robust parental control features, making it difficult for parents to monitor or restrict children’s gaming habits.

4. Library Management

  • Steam Families: Automatically combines all family members’ libraries into a single “Family Library,” making it easier to browse and access games.
  • Family Sharing: Required manual setup for sharing libraries, and users had to switch accounts to access different libraries.

5. Future of Features

  • Steam Families: Offers a streamlined and integrated approach to family gaming on Steam, replacing the older Family Sharing and Family View features.
  • Family Sharing: Will eventually be deprecated as Steam Families becomes the standard for game sharing within families.

These improvements make Steam Families a more flexible and user-friendly option for sharing games among family members, enhancing both the gaming experience and parental oversight. Now we’ll guide you on how to use this feature on Steam.

Setting Up Steam Families

To start using Steam Families, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable Steam Guard

Before creating a family, ensure that Steam Guard is enabled on your account.

  1. Open the Steam client.
  2. Click on your profile name in the top right corner.
  3. Go to Settings > Security.
  4. Select Manage Steam Guard Account Security and follow the prompts to enable it.

Step 2: Create Your Family

  1. Click on your profile name again and select Account Details.
  2. Navigate to Family Management.
  3. Click on Create a Family.
  4. Choose a name for your family.

After creating your family, click on “Invite a Member.”

  1. Select members from your Steam friends list.
  2. Decide whether each member will have adult or child permissions:
  • Adults can manage family settings.
  • Children are subject to parental controls.

Managing Your Family

Once your family is set up, you can manage it easily:

Adding or Removing Members

  • To add a new member, go to Family Management and click “Invite a Member.”
  • To remove a member, navigate to their profile in the family settings and select “Remove.”

Setting Parental Controls

  1. In the Family Management section, click on a child’s profile to expand it.
  2. Enable parental controls and configure restrictions, such as:
  • Game access limits
  • Daily playtime limits
  • Purchase requests for new games

Playing Games from Family Libraries

To play games from a family member’s library:

  1. Log into Steam on your device.
  2. Go to the Library section.
  3. Games from family members will appear alongside your own.
  4. Download and play any game that supports family sharing.

Important Considerations

  • Game Restrictions: Not all games support family sharing. Games requiring additional subscriptions or accounts may not be available.
  • Concurrent Play: Only one person can play a game at a time from a shared library. If the owner starts playing a game, others will be prompted to purchase or quit.
  • Cooldown Period: If you leave a family, you must wait one year before creating or joining another family.

According to the updated Steam Family FAQ, Valve has added a “same household” requirement for joining a Steam Family. This means all members of a Steam Family must be part of the same physical household.

However, in our testing, we found that you can add members to your Steam Family who are not living with you or sharing the same network. But, Valve might change this in the future if it gets exploited. A model similar to Netflix could be implemented, where all devices need to be on the same network to access the same account.

Enjoy sharing and playing together! You can learn more about Steam Families from their official blog.

  7. If a confirmation message appears, click on the Yes button to proceed.
  8. If a launcher opens from where the game was installed, follow the instructions to uninstall it from there.
  9. Open your web browser.
  10. Download the game from Once Human’s official website.

3. Verify Game Files

Game files can become corrupted, missing, or outdated over time. This can cause various errors in the game. Checking the integrity of game files is a common step toward fixing any errors. This step compares your local game files with the original ones from the game’s database. Any missing or corrupted files are replaced.

  1. Open the Windows search box and type “Steam”.
  2. Click the Open button to launch Steam.

  1. Type “Steam” in the Windows search box.
  2. Right-click on the Steam app and select Run as administrator.
  3. Once Steam opens, click on the LIBRARY tab.
  4. Find the Once Human game tile, right-click on it, and select Properties.
  5. In the Properties window, go to the Installed Files tab.
  6. Click on the Browse button to open the game’s local files.
  7. In the file explorer, use the search box to type “patch”.
  8. Click and drag your mouse while holding the left-click button to select all the files that appear.
  9. Press the Shift + Delete key combination on your keyboard to permanently delete these files.

  2. Click on the Open button to launch Discord.
  3. In Discord, go to User Settings by clicking the gear icon near your username.
  4. Scroll down and find the Game Overlay tab. Click on it.
  5. Toggle off the Enable in-game overlay option.

Steam

  1. Type “Steam” in the Windows search box and click Open.
  2. In Steam, click on the LIBRARY tab.
  3. Right-click on Once Human from your game list and select Properties.
  4. In the Properties menu, find and toggle off Enable The Steam Overlay while in-game.

If you are still facing the same problem despite applying every solution, submit your problem appeal at Once Human’s contact support.

  2. In Task Manager, locate and click on any application you don’t need.
  3. Click the End Task button at the bottom-right corner of Task Manager.

4. Verify Game Files

Corrupted game files can occur due to incomplete downloads, software conflicts, or hardware issues. Verifying the integrity of game files ensures that all files are correctly installed and up to date.

  1. Open Steam and click on the Library tab to see your list of games.
  2. Find Helldivers 2 in your game list, right-click on it, and select Properties.
  3. In the Properties window, go to the Installed files section and click on Verify integrity of game files.
  4. Wait for the verification process to complete, then restart Helldivers 2.

5. Reinstall the Game

If none of the solutions work, reinstalling the game can help. This process removes all previously installed game files and installs a fresh version.

  1. Open Steam and click on the Library tab.
  2. Find Helldivers 2 in your list of games and right-click on it.
  3. Hover over Manage and select Uninstall.
  4. In the confirmation window, click on Uninstall to proceed.
  5. After the game is uninstalled, go back to the Library, find Helldivers 2, and click on the Install button to download and reinstall the game.

When users attempt to log in to the Riot Games client to play Valorant or League of Legends, they encounter the error, “Sorry, we’re having trouble signing you in right now. Please try again later.”

This error prevents you from signing into the Riot Client and playing the game. The primary causes of this error are often internet configuration issues, misconfigured DNS settings, and sometimes server-side problems on Riot’s end.

Additionally, background applications like VPNs or firewalls could interfere with the connection, contributing to this error.

1. Restart Riot Client

This issue might be due to temporary problems with the Riot Client. Restarting the Riot Client can resolve these bugs and refresh its internal configurations.

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open Task Manager.
  2. In Task Manager, locate and select Riot Client.
  3. Look for any related background processes such as “RiotClientServices” and “RiotClientCrashHandler.”
  4. For each process, right-click and select End Task.

2. Restart Your Router

If the internet speed is slow or your connection is unstable, it can cause issues when signing into Riot Client. Check your internet speed at Fast or Speedtest.

3. Disable VPN

A VPN connection can result in an unstable internet connection, causing errors when signing into the Riot Client. Additionally, VPNs can sometimes interfere with server routing and authentication processes, preventing successful logins. Temporarily disabling your VPN could help you diagnose if it’s the root cause of the issue.

  1. Press Windows + I to open the Windows Settings.
  2. In the Settings window, click on Network & Internet.
  3. Select VPN on the left side menu.
  4. Find any active VPN connections listed, click on it, and then click Disconnect.

4. Update DNS Settings

Misconfigured DNS settings can cause connectivity issues. Changing the DNS settings and using a different provider might help resolve your issue. Public DNS servers such as Google’s (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare’s (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1) are reliable and can provide better performance and security. Updating these settings can often bypass regional ISP issues or DNS server outages, ensuring a more stable connection.

  1. Right-click the Network icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of your screen.
  2. From the menu that appears, select Open Network & Internet settings.
  3. In the settings window, click on Change Adapter Options.
  4. Right-click your active internet connection (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and select Properties.
  5. In the list, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then click Properties.
  6. Check the option Use the following DNS server addresses and enter the following values:
    Google’s public DNS server

    Primary: 8.8.8.8
    Secondary: 8.8.4.4
  7. Click OK to save your DNS settings. For more details, refer to our article here.

5. Disable IPv6

Disabling IPv6 can sometimes resolve connectivity issues with Riot Client, as some older routers and ISPs may not fully support it. IPv6 can occasionally interfere with network configurations, leading to errors when connecting to online services. 2. Select Open Network & Internet settings from the menu.
  3. In the new window, click on Change adapter options.
  4. Find your primary internet connection (it might be labeled as “Wi-Fi” or “Ethernet”), and right-click on it. Select Properties.
  5. In the properties window, scroll down until you see “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).” Uncheck the box next to it to disable IPv6.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.
  7. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

When users try to join a server in Battlefield 1, they encounter the error, “An error occurred, please try again later. Error Code: -34601.” This error indicates a problem with joining the game servers. The main reason behind this error is often an unstable internet connection.

Additionally, certain factors can worsen connectivity issues, such as running VPN services or having a misconfigured MAC address, which can disrupt the internet connection and cause problems when trying to connect to game servers.

In this article, we will explore various solutions to fix this issue.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

You can check your speed on platforms like Fast or Speedtest. For a smooth gaming experience, look for a download speed of at least 15 Mbps, an upload speed of at least 5 Mbps, and a ping rate of under 50 ms. If your internet speed is slow, consider restarting your router or contacting your ISP to resolve any service issues.

Ensure that no other devices are consuming a large portion of your bandwidth (e.g., streaming videos or downloads) while you are gaming.

2. Check EA Server Status

If EA servers are down or experiencing issues, it can prevent you from joining the game. Server outages or maintenance are common causes of connectivity problems. Visit the EA server status page to ensure all servers are running smoothly.

Checking social media platforms and forums can provide updates from other players who might be facing the same issue. If the servers are down, you may need to wait for EA to resolve the issue.

You can check the server status on EA’s official website here

3. Restart and Reconnect

This error might be due to temporary issues within the game, which can typically be fixed by restarting the game. Restarting will clear the game’s temporary cache and reset the connection to the server, thus resolving temporary bugs causing issues in the game.

Restarting your console or computer, as well as your game client, can ensure that all background processes are refreshed, potentially eliminating any lingering issues that could interfere with your ability to join game servers.

4. Clear Alternate MAC Address on Consoles

An improper MAC address can cause interruptions while playing online games, leading to connectivity issues. The MAC address (Media Access Control address) is a unique identifier assigned to your console’s network interface card. Sometimes, a manually configured alternate MAC address can conflict with network settings or cause compatibility issues with the game servers.

Clearing the alternate MAC address will revert to the original, factory-assigned MAC address, which is often more compatible with network configurations and can help resolve these connectivity problems.

  1. Press the Xbox One button to open the guide menu.
  2. Navigate to the Settings icon and select All Settings from the context menu.
  3. In the Settings tab, choose Network Settings.
  4. Go to Advanced Settings.
  5. Select Alternate MAC Address.
  6. Click the Clear button, then choose Restart to apply the changes.
  7. After the console restarts, try joining a server in Battlefield 1 again.

5. Disable VPN/Proxy

If a VPN service is running on your computer, it can cause an unstable internet connection due to additional routing and encryption processes that introduce latency and packet loss. This can be particularly problematic for online gaming where a stable, low-latency connection is crucial.

Disabling the VPN will provide a direct connection to Battlefield 1 servers, ensuring reduced latency and a more stable gaming experience. For added security and privacy, consider re-enabling your VPN when not gaming.

  1. Press Windows + I keys together to open the Settings menu.
  2. In the Settings window, click on Network & Internet.
  3. From the left-hand side menu, select VPN.
  4. Look for any active VPN connections listed. Click on the connection you want to disconnect, then click Disconnect.

When Delta Force Hawk Ops gets stuck at loading, the game is struggling to load necessary resources for various reasons. This issue can originate from server-side problems, conflicts with overlay applications, corrupted game files, or running too many idle applications.

Before troubleshooting further, it’s important to confirm that Delta Force Hawk Ops servers are functioning properly. Server issues, especially during the Alpha test phase, may cause the game to get stuck at loading screens. You can check the game’s official Twitter (X) page or their Discord channel for any server status updates.

Additionally, unstable network connections can contribute to loading problems. Here’s what you can do:

  • Check your internet connection: Ensure you have a stable connection by restarting your router or switching to a wired connection if possible.
  • Run a speed test: Verify that your internet speed meets the game’s requirements.
  • Restart your router: Sometimes a simple router restart can resolve connection issues that might be affecting the game.

If the servers are online and your connection is stable, proceed to the next steps to resolve any local issues.

1. Verify Game File Integrity

Loading issues are often caused by corruption in the game files. By verifying the game files, you ensure corrupted files are removed or replaced with fresh ones.

  1. Open Steam and click on Library.
  2. Locate Delta Force Hawk Ops from your list of games, right-click it, and select Properties.
  3. In the Properties window, click on Installed Files from the left pane.
  4. Click the button labeled Verify the integrity of game files.
  5. Wait for the verification process to complete. If the issue persists, proceed with other solutions.

2. Free Up System Resources

If you run too many background tasks while playing the game, you need to free up system resources by closing unnecessary programs to free up memory and CPU power. This will allow the game to access more resources, reducing loading time and improving overall performance.

  1. Right-click the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen and select Task Manager.
  2. In Task Manager, look for applications you are not actively using.
  3. Right-click each unnecessary application and click End task.
  4. Close Task Manager and check if the game still gets stuck on loading.

3. Disable In-Game Overlays

Overlay features can crash games due to their resource usage. Additionally, they sometimes conflict with the game’s engine, causing crashes or freezes. Follow these steps to disable overlays from applications like Discord, Steam, or GeForce Experience.

Since the Steam overlay often causes this issue, we’ll focus on disabling the Steam overlay. If you have overlay features enabled on other applications like Discord or GeForce Experience, disable them there as well.

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Find Delta Force Hawk Ops, right-click on it, and select Properties.
  3. In the Properties window, uncheck Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
  4. Restart the game to see if the loading issue is resolved.

4. Reinstall on SSD (If Installed on External Drive)

Reinstalling the game on an SSD can resolve loading issues, as SSDs offer faster read/write processes and transfer speeds. This reduces the chances of the game getting stuck on the loading screen.

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Right-click Delta Force Hawk Ops and select Manage > Uninstall.
  3. After the game is uninstalled, exit Steam.
  4. Open the directory where Steam is installed (commonly Program Files) and ensure all game files are completely removed.
  5. Reopen Steam and go to Library.
  6. Find Delta Force Hawk Ops and click Install.
  7. Choose your SSD as the installation location and complete the installation process.
  8. Launch the game to see if the loading issue is resolved.

1. Download the game through Loading Bay

According to various users, downloading the game through Loading Bay results in smoother gameplay compared to Steam. Loading Bay is the official client for Once Human. Running the game via Loading Bay may improve performance and provide a smoother experience than Steam.

  1. Go to the official Loading Bay website and download the launcher.
  2. Once downloaded, double-click the installer and follow the instructions to install Loading Bay.
  3. Create an account on Loading Bay if you haven’t already.
  4. Open the Loading Bay launcher, download the game, and check if the issues are resolved.

2. Disable Overlays and Background Applications

Another reason for low FPS or stuttering issues is running excessive background or overlay applications. These apps consume significant resources, leading to various issues, especially if the game requires high performance to run properly.

  1. Open Task Manager and look for unnecessary applications running in the background.
  2. Right-click on them and select End task.
  3. If you play Once Human via Steam, disable the Steam overlay. Also, disable overlays on other applications, like Discord.
  4. To disable the Steam overlay, open Steam and go to the game’s library.
  5. Right-click Once Human and go to Properties.
  6. Toggle off Enable the Steam overlay while in-game.

3. Update Graphics Drivers

Updating your GPU drivers ensures that your game runs on the latest driver version. Check for the most recent driver, as updates often include performance improvements and compatibility enhancements.

Even if your GPU driver is up-to-date, consider reinstalling it, as it might be corrupted and causing issues.

  1. Open your GPU management software (e.g., Nvidia GeForce Experience, AMD Radeon Software).
  2. Go to the Drivers section and click Check for updates.
  3. If a new GPU driver is found, update it to the latest version.
  4. Launch Once Human and check if the issue is resolved.

4. Lower Graphics Settings

If the issue persists, try reducing the graphics settings to low. High graphics settings increase the workload on the GPU and CPU, which can lead to bottleneck issues, resulting in low FPS, freezing, or stuttering.

  1. Go to Settings and navigate to Video.
  2. Select Performance from the top.
  3. Set all settings to low.
  4. Check if the issues are resolved.

If none of these solutions resolve the issue, try reinstalling the game. Reinstallation might fix the problem if there are corrupted files in the game directory. We recommend using Loading Bay, the official client for Once Human, instead of Steam for reinstallation.

When the “Network error, trying to reconnect” error occurs in Faceit, it means the connection to the server has been disrupted and the application is attempting to re-establish it.

The most common cause for this error is interference from the antivirus firewall. Other causes include unstable internet connections, misconfigured network settings, and ISP issues.

1. Disable Firewall and Antivirus

Windows Firewall or third-party antivirus software monitors traffic to prevent unauthorized access. Sometimes, they can interfere with legitimate connections needed for online gaming. Disabling them can help determine if they are causing the issue.

  1. Press the Win key and type Windows Defender Firewall.
  2. Press Enter to open the Windows Firewall Settings.
  3. In the left pane, select Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.
  4. For both private and public network settings, choose Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended).
  5. Click OK to save the settings.
  6. Check if the error is resolved.

Important: If the error is resolved, re-enable the firewall by selecting “Turn on Windows Defender Firewall.” Reinstall Faceit to let its installer properly configure your firewall to allow Faceit to connect without any blockage. If the problem persists, continue with the next steps.

2. Reset Network Settings

Incorrect or corrupted network settings can cause connectivity issues. Resetting the network settings clears these settings, allowing your system to establish a fresh connection to the network.

  1. Press the Win key and type Network reset.
  2. Press Enter to open the network reset settings.
  3. Click the Reset Now button to reset your network settings to default.
  4. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

3. Use a VPN

Using a VPN can help determine if regional restrictions or your ISP is blocking certain connections to Faceit. While it might not be a permanent solution due to potential high pings, it can indicate where the problem lies. Follow these steps:

  1. Download and install a reputable VPN service (e.g., NordVPN, ExpressVPN).
  2. Open the VPN application and connect to a server in a different region.
  3. After connecting, try using Faceit again.
  4. If the error is resolved while using the VPN, the issue might be with your ISP or regional restrictions.

If the problem is resolved, contact your ISP and inform them of the connectivity issues with the hostname ac-client-ws.faceit.com.

If none of these solutions work, contact Faceit support. Their team will help you resolve the error as soon as possible.

The error message “Could not enter matchmaking” in VALORANT is a common issue that often occurs because of network problems. This means the game is having trouble connecting you to other players.

Game servers can also cause this error due to technical problems, which may vary from region to region. Leaving a match or misconduct towards other players results in a temporary ban, preventing you from joining a match.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through multiple solutions, ranging from simple checks to more advanced troubleshooting steps.

1. Check Server Status

Before we proceed troubleshooting, ensure VALORANT servers are fully functional and are working properly.

  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Go to the Riot Games server status page for Valorant.
  3. Select your region from the drop-down menu to view the server status specific to your location.
    • For example, select “North America,” “Europe,” or “Asia” based on your current region.
  4. Look for any server updates or ongoing maintenance notices.
  5. Check for any specific solutions offered by the game’s officials for your error.

2. Flush DNS and Reset Winsock

The DNS (Domain Name System) translates website names into IP addresses. Over time, this information can become outdated or corrupted, causing connection issues. Flushing the DNS clears this old information and starts fresh. Winsock is a part of Windows that manages network connections. Resetting it can help fix network issues.

Note: Restart your internet router by turning it off for 30 seconds to 1 minute before turning it back on.

  1. In the Windows search box, type “Command Prompt”.
  2. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  3. Type the following command:
    ipconfig /flushdns
  4. Press Enter. You should see a confirmation message when the operation completes.
  5. Next, type this command to reset Winsock:
    netsh winsock reset
  6. Press Enter again. A confirmation message will appear when done.
  7. Close the Command Prompt window.

3. End Valorant Process from Task Manager

Stopping Valorant tasks can fix minor glitches or misconfigurations by force quitting the game, which restarts it with new data and eliminates previously stored corrupted data.

  1. Right-click on the empty space on the taskbar.
  2. Select Task Manager.
  3. In Task Manager, find and click on Riot Client to select it. There may be more than one instance.
  4. Click End Task. This will force quit the application.
  5. Do the same for the VALORANT task: select it and click End Task.
  6. Finally, select the BootstrapPackagedGame task and click End Task.
  7. Close the Task Manager window.

4. Repair Game Files

Corrupted or missing game files can cause various errors. This step checks the integrity of game files by comparing them with the latest versions available on game servers. Any missing, outdated, or corrupted files are replaced.

Note: Update your game if an update is available.

  1. In the Windows search box, type Riot Client.
  2. Click Open.
  3. In the Riot Client dashboard, click the Profile icon located at the top-right corner.
  4. From the dropdown menu, choose Settings.
  5. In the Settings menu, click on the Valorant tab.
  6. Press the Repair button to start repairing the game files.
  7. If any files need repairing, the process will begin automatically.

5. Delete Game Cache

Temporary game data can become corrupted, causing errors. Deleting these files forces the game to generate new, error-free data upon startup.

Note: You may lose in-game settings while doing this.

  1. In the Windows search box, type “Run”.
  2. Click on the Open button from the search results.
  3. In the “Run” dialog box, type the following command:
    %localappdata%
  4. Press the OK button.
  5. In the file explorer window that opens, find the folders named “Riot Client” and “VALORANT”.
  6. Right-click each folder and select Delete.

6. Disable Firewall and Antivirus

Your PC’s firewall and antivirus can sometimes be overly aggressive, interfering with Valorant. Temporarily turning them off or limiting their impact on Valorant can help determine if they’re causing the error.

Important: Disabling your firewall and antivirus leaves your system vulnerable to security threats. Only disable these protections temporarily and turn them back on immediately after troubleshooting.

Windows Defender:

  1. Type Windows Security into the Windows search box.
  2. Click Open.
  3. Select Virus & threat protection.
  4. Click Manage settings.
  5. Toggle Real-time protection to Off.
  6. Click Yes to confirm.

Note: Remember to turn these settings back on after checking if the error persists.

Windows Firewall:

  1. Type Windows Security into the Windows search box.
  2. Click Open.
  3. Select Firewall & network protection.
  4. Click on your active network.
  5. Toggle the Microsoft Defender Firewall to Off.
  6. Click Yes to confirm.

Note: Remember to turn these settings back on after checking if the error persists.

7. Change Internet Protocols

Internet Protocols (like IPv4 and IPv6) are the rules your computer uses to communicate over the internet. Sometimes, switching between these two can help fix connection issues. Here’s how to do it:

Note: Ensure that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) supports IPv6 before unchecking IPv4. IPv4 is the most commonly supported protocol.

  1. Search for “Control Panel” in the Windows search box and click Open.
  2. Click Network and Internet.
  3. Select Network and Sharing Centre.
  4. Click on your network connection (Wi-Fi name).
  5. In the new window, click Properties.
  6. Depending on what is checked:
    • If Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) is checked, uncheck it and check Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
    • If Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) is checked, uncheck it and check Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  7. Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click Properties.
  8. Select the option “Use the following DNS server addresses:”.
  9. Enter “8.8.8.8” for Preferred DNS server and “8.8.4.4” for Alternate DNS server.
  10. Click OK to close the window.
  11. Click OK again to save the settings and then Close the window.

  12. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

If you still face the same error despite your best efforts, contact Valorant’s support for further guidance.

Once Human has a limit for active players on each server. When the limit is reached, no additional players can join, displaying a “Server Full” message, which has caused significant frustration among players.

The game developers know about this issue and are working on a solution. Meanwhile, they have introduced a Special Invitation Code method to enable you to play with friends. Here’s how you can work around this issue.

Get on Full Servers Using Invite Codes

You can join a full server using a Special Invitation Code, which can be shared among friends. If your friend is on a full server, they can send up to five invites to join. Servers also have a limit for these extra players, so send and use the invites quickly. Players must be under level 10 to use this code.

To get the code, the player already in the server needs to open the player’s menu by pressing F3. Then, go to the Events tab and click on Gather Friends. Look for the Invite button at the bottom-right of the screen to send the server invite code to friends.

Players receiving these codes can access them by pressing ESC in the main menu. Click on the profile icon, then select View special invitation code at the bottom-right of the screen. Ensure you select the same region and enter the correct name of your friend’s server. Press F to select the server, then press Enter Game. Click on the Special Invitation Code option, enter the code, and confirm to join the server.

How To Play With Friends

A server is divided into ten worlds, accessible through a teleportation tower in-game. This setup keeps the population dispersed and ensures enough resources for everyone.

To play with your friends, be in the same server (MANIBUS or EVOLUTION’S CALL) and the same world. Look for a low-populated server and join together or wait in the queue for your desired server.

Since characters can’t be transferred between servers, plan accordingly before starting together on your chosen server.
