For most Android users, the default Google Dialer app varies by region and carrier, requiring notification of the other person when recording a call.

How Call Recording Works on Google Dialer

With Android 9 (Pie), Google introduced strict rules on recording incoming calls via third-party apps. These rules became even stricter with Android 10 (Quince Tart), limiting microphone recording abilities. Consequently, Google Dialer became a main way to record calls safely on Android.

Google Dialer’s Default Call Screen

The app allows you to record calls natively from within the call screen, but the other party must be notified when recording starts. Google enforces this to ensure compliance with privacy laws in many countries.

Although some users seek to bypass this, it’s important to understand that doing so might breach local laws regarding call recording.

Why Google Announces When a Call is Being Recorded

Google announces when a call is being recorded due to legal and privacy regulations requiring call participants to be informed. Depending on your location, laws may require either one-party or two-party consent for recording calls. This announcement helps Google comply with regional laws and prevents legal disputes from unconsented recordings.

No conversation is recorded when the call is on hold or the other party hasn’t picked up. This setup allows a non-consenting person to put the call on hold or hang up, preventing unwanted recordings and potential disputes.

How to Disable the Recording Announcement

Google does not allow the recording announcement to be turned off officially, but some users have reported workarounds. However, using these methods may violate local laws, as bypassing consent requirements for call recording could have legal consequences.

Note that Appuals strictly discourages third-party exploits. This information is to inform readers about potential risks.

1) Switch to the Notification Tune (if applicable)

In some regions, Google allows users to switch to a subtle audio tune instead of a full disclaimer. While it still notifies the other person, the tone may not be easily recognizable.

2) Use a Third-Party Text-to-Speech Engine

A workaround some users have reported is using TTSLexx, a third-party text-to-speech engine available on the Google Play Store.

This method can suppress the call recording announcement, but it may no longer work with the latest Android updates.

Additionally, using this workaround could violate local call recording laws, so proceed with caution.

  1. Download TTSLexx from the Play Store.
  2. Go to Settings > System > Languages > Text-to-speech output. Accessing the On-Device Recognition Settings
  3. Scroll down to “Preferred engine.” Tap on it.
  4. Choose TTSLexx.
  5. Clear the Phone app’s cache and data.

3) Opt for Manufacturer’s Proprietary Dialers

Some smartphone manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Samsung, offer their own proprietary dialer apps, which may allow call recording without notifying the other party in certain regions. However, these features are subject to local laws, and in global markets, many phones, such as Xiaomi devices with HyperOS, now ship with the Google Dialer by default, limiting call recording options.

Mi Dialer allows you to record calls natively

Since the Mi Dialer isn’t included in some global versions of HyperOS, like the Poco M4, users have two options: manually install it or switch to a software version from regions like India, where the Mi Dialer is still available.

For a step-by-step guide on installing the Mi Dialer on HyperOS, check out this detailed tutorial: How to Install Mi Dialer in HyperOS.

4) Use a Physical Device to Record Calls

If other methods fail, using a pocket recorder is an alternative. This device is legal in most regions and doesn’t notify the other party. However, it typically starts at around $100.

Recording calls via Google Dialer can involve legal restrictions, depending on the laws in your region. While alternative methods and apps exist to bypass the notification, users should be aware that these could lead to legal penalties if the other party is not informed. Always ensure compliance with local privacy laws before recording any calls. Consider whether recording certain calls is worth the cost or risk.

When Telegram is stuck on “Connecting”, the app fails to establish a network connection, leaving users unable to send or receive messages. This issue generally indicates that the app cannot reach Telegram’s servers, often due to network-related problems.

The most common cause of this error is an unstable or weak internet connection. However, incorrect proxy settings, VPN configurations, or rare server-side problems can also trigger it.

Note: We used an Infinix device for the screenshots. If you are using a Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, or any other device, the names for certain settings may differ slightly. You can find them with a simple Google search.

1. Check Server Status

  1. Open your preferred web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  2. Go to DownDetector’s Telegram server status page.
  3. Locate and click on the drop-down menu under the regions section.
  4. Select your region from the list.
  5. Examine the graph displayed on the page for any outages or problem reports.
  6. Take note of any specific issues or recent updates mentioned on the page.

2. Use a VPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) provides a secure and private network, allowing users to run the app from different locations across the globe. It helps check error consistency across different servers. You can also use Telegram via VPN if the app is banned in your country. VPN routes your internet connection through different servers, bypassing any local restrictions or network blocks that may be causing this error.

3. Reboot Your Internet Router

Rebooting your internet router can resolve poor and slow network connections. This step also helps clear the network cache and improve the router’s overall performance.

  1. Disconnect the power cable from your router.
  2. Wait for at least 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable back to the router.
  4. Allow a few minutes for the router to fully restart and reconnect to your network.

If rebooting your router does not resolve the issue, consider using mobile data over a Wi-Fi connection

4. Update Telegram

Using an outdated version of Telegram can cause issues. App updates usually fix bugs and introduce new features compatible with the device’s system software.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
    Google Play Store
  2. Tap on your profile icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
    Profile Icon
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Manage apps & device.
  4. In the “Updates available” section, locate Telegram and tap the Update button next to it.
  5. Wait for the update to complete before using the app.

5. Disable Airplane Mode

Airplane mode turns off all connectivity on your device. Turning it on and off can make your Wi-Fi or mobile data work more effectively.

  1. Start by swiping down from the top of your device’s screen to open the notification panel.
  2. Locate and tap the Airplane mode icon. Tap it once to turn it on, and then tap it again to turn it off.
  3. Once Airplane mode is off, reconnect to your Wi-Fi or mobile data.

6. Set Your Date And Time Zone

Incorrect times can affect app data syncing, causing mismatched timestamps and login issues. Setting your date and time zone to automatic can prevent these problems.

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. In the search bar at the top of Settings, type and select “Date & time”.
  3. Check that the Automatic time zone option is enabled (it should be toggled on).

7. Clear Cache

App data corruption can cause errors. Apps store temporary data in cache files, which can become corrupted. Clearing the cache can resolve these errors.

  1. Open the Telegram app on your device and go to the Settings menu.
  2. In the settings, scroll down and tap on Storage & Cache.
  3. Next, tap on the option labeled Clear Cache.
  4. After you select Clear Cache, the cached data of the Telegram app will be deleted from your device.

8. Turn On Background Data

Telegram needs access to background data to receive messages when it is not actively being used. Enabling background data improves performance and syncing.

  1. Press and hold the Telegram app icon on your device.
  2. From the options that appear, tap on App Info.
  3. In the App Info menu, select Mobile data & Wi-Fi.
  4. Toggle the switch to enable Background data.

9. Allow Telegram Necessary Permissions

Denying necessary permissions can obstruct an app’s functionality. Make sure Telegram has access to the necessary permissions like the camera, files, contacts, and storage.

  1. Tap and hold the Telegram app icon on your phone’s home screen or app drawer.
  2. In the options that appear, tap on App Info.
  3. Next, tap on Permissions.
  4. Check that Telegram has access to all necessary permissions such as camera, files, contacts, and storage. Enable any permissions that are disabled.

10. Disable Battery Optimization

Battery optimization can limit an app’s functionality to save battery, causing Telegram to get stuck. Disabling this can allow the app to run properly in the background.

  1. First, open the Settings app on your device.
  2. In the search bar at the top, type “Battery Optimization” (this may also be labeled as “Battery Saver” or “App Battery Management”, depending on your device).
  3. Once the search results appear, select the Battery Optimization option.

Xiaomi’s MIUI and its successor HyperOS are well-known within certain enthusiast communities for bringing high levels of customization to the Android circuit. The company gives its users plenty of freedom to tinker and fine-tune even the smallest details according to their preferences.

While there’s some debate about HyperOS taking notes from iOS, it’s no secret that Xiaomi users have long enjoyed the freedom to customize everything—from major features like home screen icons (welcome to the club, iOS users) to minor details like the charging animation.

How Does Charging on Xiaomi Work?

Xiaomi’s devices have long been synonymous with jaw-dropping charging speeds. While industry leaders like Samsung, Apple, and Google have quietly held back, Xiaomi has aggressively pushed the limits by not only making this technology common but also more accessible. As an example, Redmi’s mid-range Note 12 Discovery Edition from 2022, comes with 210W charging, which in theory is capable of fully charging your phone in just under five minutes. Let that sink in.

Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition at 300W | Xiaomi

While bringing charging speeds above 200W to mainstream consumer phones comes with its own set of challenges, Xiaomi has mostly stuck to 18W-120W for the majority of its devices. Within this range, the company has segmented and marketed specific speeds under its Mi Turbo Charge and HyperCharge branding.

Like most other phones that support fast charging, Xiaomi relies on USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) as the foundation for quickly charging its batteries. If you want to learn more about USB-PD, refer to our dedicated guide, where we’ve broken down the topic in detail.

Charging Animations in MIUI & HyperOS

The charging animations on MIUI and HyperOS are more or less the same. The way they essentially work is by storing a pre-rendered screen within the device, which is triggered when you connect your phone to a charger, be it wired or wireless. The phone uses data from the battery’s sensor to display the current charging level, along with an indication of whether or not the phone is charging quickly.

Animations for Differing Charging Speeds on Xiaomi

The image above shows how on Xiaomi phones supporting any of the company’s fast charging standards, the charging animation screen displays the current battery level accurate to two decimal places when the charger is plugged in. This not only gives the illusion of the phone charging incredibly fast but also helps users determine whether the adapter (or in some cases, the cable) is charging the phone at its maximum rated speed.

↪ Battery Level Charging Screens

In HyperOS, or MIUI, you’ll find no option for swapping out the default charging screen for one that is different for specific charging levels. While Xiaomi does allow you to somehow set third-party charging animations, the charging screens you see when you plug in your phone to charge do not adapt to the battery percentage.

The battery indication in the notification bar does have subtle colour codes, or elements to signal a low charge, such as the battery icon turning red. However, the charging animation is independent of this, and will remain the same, whether you’re at 1% charge, or at 80%. The only graphic that changes within the screen is the actual battery percentage.

↪ The Xiaomi.eu Confusion

XiaomiEU, or Xiaomi.eu, is a cleaned and translated version of MIUI from China. It’s essentially a custom ROM that has gained a lot of popularity from within Xiaomi’s enthusiast custom ROM community. The way it fits in the scope of this article is that it included an option to swap out the default charging animation with a few pre-installed alternatives.

Since the ROM looks and feels more or less identical to the stock MIUI experience, it’s easy to see why some users on online forums might mistakenly believe that Xiaomi itself had provided the option to manually customize the charging style on its devices, without needing third-party themes.

HyperOS Has a Dynamic Island…of Sorts

MIUI’s transition to HyperOS carried forward the same charging screen, but added a few extra visual markers. For instance, when you plug in your phone, it now notifies you with a popup notification activity, similar to the popular Dynamic Island-style animation found on iPhones.

↪ An iOS Knock-Off?

After HyperOS’s global launch, there was a lot of talk surrounding the idea that HyperOS took more than one design inspiration from its more popular rival, Apple. The new charging visual was one of the main elements that stood out, and for good reason. The image below shows the different styles of displaying the same charging popup on iPhone (left) and Xiaomi (right).

Apple’s iOS (left) vs. Xiaomi’s HyperOS (right)

Since Xiaomi, for obvious reasons, doesn’t have a physical pill cut-out, it tried to make do with the normal punch-hole design, but the similarities are there for the consumer to judge. However, whether it is the same or not, many users like the design and wish to do the same on their devices that didn’t get support for HyperOS.

How to Enable Dynamic Island HyperOS Animation Bar on Any Device?

This section below outlines the methodology of getting the Dynamic Island charging visual on any device on Android, including phones running MIUI. For this, it is important to know that since there is no built-in option, we will be using a third-party app from the Google Play Store.

1) Get the HyperOS Charging Animation App

  1. Head on to the Google Play Store and search for “HyperOS Charging Animation.”
  2. Download and Install the app.
  3. Once the app is installed, open it and allow the Accessibility Service permissions to enable the functionality.
Installing the HyperOS Charging Animation App via Play Store

2) Enable the Charging Bar

  1. Go to the app’s Dashboard and toggle on the “Use HyperOS Charging Animation” setting.
  2. In the “Set Charging Text” tab, you can also choose to display any message you wish.
  3. Tap on “Start Customizing.”

Xiaomi’s ‘revamped’ HyperOS came with more than one visual change, but the design roots remained largely intact. The UI continues to give off a subtly light and airy feel with heavy reliance on blur effects. In some ways, MIUI’s successor didn’t shy away from establishing iOS as its paragon but failed to establish the same level of consistency across its entire lineup.

This is why, within HyperOS’ more obscure options, you’ll find Advanced Textures, which are allegedly not available on a particular set of Xiaomi phones. This guide will try to delve into why that is, isolate the issue, and find potential alternatives and fixes to bring back the functionality.

What are Advanced Textures?

Advanced Textures is a display setting on Xiaomi devices that lets users choose a subtly darker, blurrier interface with more dynamic animations intended to feel light and fluid. Xiaomi’s recent design philosophy has largely been Apple-esque, which is why MIUI and, subsequently, HyperOS’ iconography and UI have closely tried to mimic iOS’ aesthetic.

Advanced Textures Enabled (Left) vs. Disabled (Right)

The feature “improves rendering effects” and adds subtle blurriness throughout the interface, including an improved dark mode within the Notification Shade, Control Center, Volume Panel, and Recent Screens. However, the changes are so minor that it’s almost surprising that Xiaomi dedicated a specific display setting for this feature.

Some proprietary apps like Mi File Manager, Gallery, and Security support matching background blur when Advanced Textures is enabled. In other apps, the background color blends with the wallpaper, somewhat reminiscent of Google’s “Material You” design philosophy, but with an added touch of blur.

Why are Advanced Textures Not Showing Up?

HyperOS came with the second version of Advanced Textures, which is when many users noticed the feature missing from this device. Xiaomi hasn’t published a lot of information publicly on how its device support criteria works, but for unsupported devices, here’s what may be happening.

1) Hardware

With the number of phones Xiaomi pushes out each year, coming in with huge price and hardware discrepancies, it’s obvious that some functionality may be pulled from certain devices due to hardware limitations.

Advanced Textures on Supported (Left) vs. Unsupported (Right) Xiaomi Devices

Advanced Textures is a hardware-intensive feature that may not have the best value-to-performance ratio in phones targeted at the budget or mid-range segment. This is why Xiaomi has categorically and deliberately opted out of offering the feature on select devices.

Some custom HyperOS ROMs do offer the same functionality for phones that don’t support it natively, but as for the official build, if you don’t see the toggle for Advanced Textures under “Display & brightness” settings on your device, know that Xiaomi has chosen not to support the said hardware.

2) Software Support

HyperOS’s main highlight was how much better it was optimized than its predecessor. With more juice to work with, it is possible some devices that weren’t previously supported were included to work with Advanced Textures 2.0.

Xiaomi HyperOS

To make sure your phone is supported, update your device to the latest version of HyperOS or make the switch from MIUI if you still need to do so. In the same way, it is possible that the updated version that introduces support is yet to be released for your region. Some regions receive HyperOS updates sooner than others.

Alternatives to Advanced Textures

If your device is off of the support list for Advanced Textures, it is time to look at potential alternatives. The feature added subtle depth to the whole UI, and for that to happen, you may need to experiment a bit to see what suits your use.

↪ Control Center Transparency

Over the past few iterations of its mobile operating system, Xiaomi has experimented with adding different levels of blur to the Control Center. In MIUI 13, the company added a blurred background but removed it in MIUI 14, replacing it with an opaque background.

Control Center — MIUI 13 (Left) vs. MIUI 14 (Right)

1) Use the Built-In Dark Mode

If you wish to mimic the same functionality, try looking into HyperOS’ proprietary Dark Mode. This may provide a more comfortable and fluid look than the normal theme, be easy on the eyes, and somewhat mimic what Advanced Textures aims to do.

Dark mode on HyperOS / MIUI

Sure, with the Dark Mode itself, you won’t get the same level of subtle blur, but even if you do, you would be sacrificing a lot of performance, especially on a device that isn’t supported natively.

2) Themes

Within HyperOS or MIUI, you could use a selection of themes to fine-tune your phone’s look and overall UI to your liking. You can choose to use a darker theme or (as a hack) one that enables a transparent background within the Control Center. This way, you can get the most out of the desired feature without having to tinker around with your phone too much.

Use Themes to fine-tune your phone’s Control Center

It is important to understand that some of these themes that introduce blur within the Control Center may not sync with your device’s background and are merely blurred placeholder backgrounds for the specific theme itself.

3) Custom ROMs

If you’re looking to root and flash a separate module to enable Advanced Textures on your device, try looking into third-party custom ROMs that are not only reliable but also offer the Advanced Textures’ functionality.

Most ROMs based on HyperOS typically come with features that are supported on only the top-end Xiaomi devices and are pulled out of the official builds for the rest of the pack.

READ MORE: The Best Custom Android ROMs in 2024 Ranked

Conclusion

Advanced Textures are available for a very minimal selection of Xiaomi devices that can support them. For the rest, the functionality can’t be individually turned off from within the official build. Either you can make do with the built-in dark mode or will have to flash a custom ROM offering all the benefits of a device that falls in a more premium price bracket.

FAQs

Why is Advanced Textures not available on my phone?

Xiaomi may have opted not to include the feature on the specific software version for your device so that it doesn’t affect the hardware performance of your phone. MIUI was already notorious for its consistent bugginess and a heap of performance-throttling mechanisms. Hence, for phones with weak hardware, Advanced Textures’ support would do more harm than good.

How do you add blur to the Control Center on Xiaomi phones?

HyperOS already comes with a slightly blurred background, but if you’re on an older version of MIUI, there’s an option to choose specific themes that have a transparent background effect for the Control Center.

What does Advanced Textures do?

It adds a tinge of snappiness and modern UI elements to the device, which is otherwise tuned to be as efficient as possible using the minimum possible resources. Keep in mind that enabling Advanced Textures negatively impacts raw performance.

BlissOS is a popular open-source Operating System used to run Android on x86-based PCs. This project is a fork, or a derivative, of a much larger project called Androidx86. The common goal is to port the Android experience to PC hardware using Intel and AMD; x86-based processors.

BlissOS uses Androidx86 as its foundation but adds various other features on top such as improved optimization and customizations. It adopts a much more friendly UI than stock Androidx86 builds. Likewise, it is a complete Operating System, unlike other projects such as Bluestacks which simply uses a virtual Android environment on Windows.

The inclusion of the XtMapper keymapper, which mind you is also open source enables users to seamlessly navigate and control apps using a mouse and keyboard. Currently, stable versions including Bliss OS 14 and Bliss OS 15 support Android 11 and 12L respectively. If you wish to go the experimental route, Bliss OS 16 and Bliss OS Zenith offer Beta Android 13 builds as well.

BlissOS: Requirements and Targeted Audience

As of Q4 2022, BlissOS requires the following hardware at a minimum:

↪ Intel:

  • Intel Core i Series (i3/5/7/9) – Fully Supported
  • Intel Celeron M – Fully Supported (Kernel 5.4+ recommended)
  • Intel Atom – Mostly Supported (Kernel 5.10+ recommended)
  • Core2Duo – Not Fully Supported (Needs SSE4.2) (May require 32bit builds)

↪ AMD:

  • A Series – Mostly Supported (Needs SSE4.2) (Kernel 5.10+ recommended)
  • Ryzen Series (1k-7k) – Fully Supported (Kernel 5.10+ recommended)
  • Athlon Series – Mostly Supported (Needs SSE4.2) (Kernel 5.10+ recommended)

BlissOS is primarily built for low-end devices and again, is a complete Operating System, unlike an app that you’d launch within Windows. These Operating Systems are intended for developers and users who want something other than basic Windows. BlissOS is not the strongest recommendation for gaming enthusiasts as you’d be better off with something like Bluestacks or Gameloop.

If you have an older laptop or another compatible device, why not consider getting the Android experience with an operating system like BlissOS? Many people prefer Android for media consumption, and for developers, such systems can be invaluable for testing and debugging software without needing a physical mobile device.

Disabling Secure Boot, TPM, and Setting SATA to AHCI

From the official documentation of BlissOS, you’ll need to change a few settings in your BIOS;

  • Disable TPM (drive encryption).
  • Disable Secure Boot.
  • Make sure drive access is set to AHCI.
  1. Open the BIOS of your system by pressing the “Delete“, “F1“, “F2” or the “F10” keys.
  2. Navigate to the “Boot” section, find “Secure Boot” and set it to “Disabled“.

  3. Next up, you need to find the SATA Controller setting which is commonly present in the “Settings” tab. Set the SATA Mode to “AHCI” instead of IDE/RAID.

  4. Lastly, we need to disable TPM (Trusted Platform Module). Again, we found this option in the “Settings” tab under the “Trusted Computing” section. You may want to refer to your motherboard manual for more details.

Installation via the Windows Installer

We believe the reason why Bliss OS hasn’t seen widespread adoption is due to its complicated installation procedure. Multibooting Bliss using GRUB requires some experience and know-how of how partitioning works. Luckily for us, Bliss OS offers users a Windows Installer which is much easier than the aforementioned method.

The only caveat is that a standard EFI install is always better in terms of stability, updates, and whatnot as compared to the Windows Installer. If you only wish to boot using Bliss, the process is straightforward. However, the complications arise when you dabble into multi-OS territory. We will discuss the EFI method in a later section.

1) Preparing the Windows Installer

  1. Use the following link to visit the GitHub repository containing the Androidx86 Installer. The latest .exe file usually resides in the /bin/make_installer folder.

  2. Afterward, simply click on the highlighted .exe file. This will take you to a page where you can view the file, but due to its size, you will be prompted to download it instead. Click on the “Download raw file” option and the required .exe should start downloading in your browser or any other download management utility.

  3. Once installed, keep this file somewhere you can easily find it as we’ll proceed to download the main .iso file next.

2) Downloading the Bliss OS .iso File

  1. Visit Bliss OS’ website by using the following link. Be sure to double-check the URL; “https://blissos.org“. In the top-right corner, you’ll find a “Download” button, click on it and you’ll be taken to another section of the same page.

  2. As stated above, “Bliss OS 14” and “Bliss OS 15” are the most stable builds. We’ll go with Bliss OS 15 as it is based on the newer Android 12L. Moreover, we’ll select GApps as it is easier to set up than FOSS, which is an open-source alternative. Click on the “SourceForge” button and you will be redirected to a SourceForge page.

  3. We’ll install the latest release which is the version “Bliss-v15.9.1“. Simply click on the highlighted link on the page and it’ll redirect you to another page and the download should start automatically. Depending on your Internet speed, this could take a while.

  4. Once the file has been downloaded, the next step is to set up a partition to install your Operating System.

3) Creating the Required Partition

Since we’re not following an EFI install, you already must have Windows installed on your storage device. Therefore, we have to create another partition for Bliss OS. You can do so by simply shrinking an existing partition (one in which your Windows is installed) by around 1520GB. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Open the Windows Search Bar by pressing the Windows icon in your taskbar or the “Win” key on your keyboard. Afterward, type “Disk” in the taskbar and you should see an option that says “Create and format disk partitions“.

  2. Click on the given option and the “Disk Management” utility should open, giving you an overview of your installed storage devices and their respective partitions.

  3. Choose the Hard Disk/SSD on which you wish to create a New Partition. In our case, we shall select “Disk 0” (See screenshot below).

  4. If your disk only has 1 partition (like in our case), right-click on it and select “Shrink Volume“. In case of multiple partitions, select the required one per your preferences; storage etcetera.

  5. In the “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB” field, type “20000” which provides 20GB from your initial partition to a new one. Afterward, click on “Shrink“, and you will see a new unallocated partition.

  6. The next step is to format this new partition as “NTFS“. To do so, right-click on the new unallocated partition, and click on “New Simple Volume“.

  7. Follow the Wizard as required by pressing “Next“, in the “Specify Volume Size” page, leave the settings as default, in the “Assign Drive Letter or Path” page, choose a letter of your choice, and in the “Format Partition” page select the File system type “NTFS“. You may choose a Volume label of your choice.

  8. After you click on “Finish“, you’ve successfully created a new partition on which we will install BlissOS in the next section.

4) Installing BlissOS

  1. Open the “Androidx86.exe” file you installed previously from GitHub. Select “OK” if you’re prompted to install BlissOS.

  2. Once the interface opens, in the “Android OS Image‘ section, browse and locate where you’ve downloaded the BlissOS .iso file.

  3. In the “Target Drive“, choose the New Volume you’ve created with the designated Drive Letter. If you’re unsure or forgot, navigate to the “This PC” folder to see the associated Drive Letter. In our case, the Drive Letter is “G“.

  4. Increase the “Data Size” to around 1516GB and click on “Install“. Sit tight until BlissOS is installed.

  5. Once installed, open the Windows Search Bar and type “Advanced Start“. Under “Recovery options“, in the “Advanced startup” menu, select “Restart now“.

  6. Click on “Use a device” and on the next page choose “Android-OS“. (Image Credit: BlissOS)

  7. Now you’ve successfully installed and booted into BlissOS on your system.

EFI Installation

In order to install using a USB Bootable drive, we first need to install Rufus and flash the .iso file to our USB Drive. Afterward, we need to create an unallocated partition, but this time, we won’t be formatting it. Through the installer, we’ll divide this main partition into two parts.

One part will contain the bulk/main data of our OS, we’ll refer it to as “A“. The second partition will be called “B” and this will host the “EFI System“.

1) Downloading the Bliss OS .iso File

  1. To download the appropriate version of BlissOS, visit their website by using the following link. Kindly double-check the URL; “https://blissos.org“. Click on the “Download” button in the top-right corner of the page.

  2. Our primary focus will be stable builds; “Bliss OS 14” and “Bliss OS 15“. Since Bliss OS 15 is the latest edition, based on Android 12L, we shall select this version. It is best you select the GApps variant since it offers ease of use and you won’t need to install necessities from scratch. Click on the “SourceForge” link next to the version you want to install.

  3. Once SourceForge opens, select the latest build, indicated by the number of “Downloads/Week“. We will download the version “Bliss-v15.9.1“. Click on the highlighted link and the .iso should start downloading.

  4. After you’ve finished downloading, the next step is to create a large partition, but we won’t be formatting it this time.

2) Creating a New Partition

  1. Open the Windows Search Bar using the “Win” key on your keyboard or clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar. Type the term “Disk” in the search box and click on the first option, that is, the option shown in the image.

  2. Once the “Disk Management” utility opens, you should see all your attached devices and their partitions.

  3. If you have multiple drives, choose the most suitable for partitioning. We will choose “Disk 0” for the sake of this guide.

  4. If you have multiple partitions, they all must have their volumes. Choose the one that you’re most comfortable with shrinking. Once you’ve decided, right-click on the chosen partition and select “Shrink Volume“.

  5. We typically recommend 1520GB for BlissOS so in the “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB“, type “20000” (To be on the safe side) since it measures data in MegaBytes. Click on “Shrink” and a new unallocated partition will be made.

  6. This time, you won’t need to format the drive as NTFS/FAT32 as we’ll do that step during installation.
  7. Lastly, right-click on the drive as shown in the image attached and click on “Properties“.

  8. Once the Properties panel opens, navigate to the “Volume” tab and check to see if your drive is partitioned as per GPT or MBR.

3) Downloading Rufus and Flashing the OS

  1. Type “Rufus” on Google and open the first link. You may also use the provided link. Double-check the URL; “https://rufus.ie/en/“.

  2. Scroll down and select the “Standard” version for “Windows x64“.

  3. After downloading Rufus, double-click on the .exe to open it.
  4. In the “Device” tab, select your USB Flash Drive. Moving to the “Boot selection” tab, select the .iso file containing BlissOS that you downloaded in Step 1 from SourceForge. If your selected drive is GPT, set the “Partition scheme” to GPT and vice versa for MBR.

  5. Click on “START” and wait until the image is flashed to your USB flash drive.

4) Booting From USB

Once you’ve copied the .iso to your flash drive, the last step is to install BlissOS. First, you’ll need to boot your system through the USB drive. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the BIOS/UEFI of your system by pressing the “Delete“, “F1“, “F2” or the “F10” keys. Once opened, navigate to the “Boot” section or something similar to that. In the Boot Priorities or Boot Option#1, set it to your attached USB Drive.

  2. Your next boot will use data from your USB flash drive. After a while, you should see an interface similar to the one in the image. Click on the “Installation” option.

5) Setting Up EFI and OS Partitions

  1. If it says you have a UEFI-based system, press “Enter“.

  2. Once the partition selection page pops up, move down until you find the “Create/Modify partitions” setting and press “Enter“.

  3. Select the disk on which you’ve created the unallocated partition.

  4. If you’re prompted to use “cgdisk” instead of “cfdisk“, select “No” and continue with cfdisk.

  5. In the DOS-looking interface, locate the 20GB partition you created before, indicated with “Free Space“. After selecting that partition, select “New” from the bottom menu.

  6. You’ll be asked to type a size. We’re creating another partition (B) from your original 20GB partition. B will be the EFI system partition (Contains the bootloader), whereas the bulk of BlissOS will be stored in A. Type “1G“, that is, we’re creating a partition (B) with size 1GB, more than enough for the bootloader. Hit “Enter“.

  7. A new “sda” entry will be created with the size “1G”. We need to change its type to “EFI System“. To do so, select the new entry (B) which in our case is “sda5“, navigate to “Type” in the bottom menu, press “Enter“, navigate up until you find the “EFI System” file, and press “Enter“.

  8. Afterward, select “A”, that is, your original file, now reduced by 1GB and still in “Free space“. In the bottom tab, select “New” and press “Enter“.

  9. You’ll be prompted to enter the size of “A“. Use the default size, which in our case is “18.5G“. Press “Enter“.

  10. Once created, remember the sda names. For example, “sda5” is the “EFI System” (B), and “sda6” is the “Bulk of our OS” (A), but this will be different for your system. Select “A” and in the bottom tab, choose the option “Write“, and press “Enter“. You’ll have to manually type “yes” on the screen for it to proceed any further.

  11. Now select “Quit“, hit “Enter” and the installer will restart.

6) Installing BlissOS

  1. Once you’re back to the partition selection page, select “B” or the partition having type “EFI System“, which in our case is “sda5“.

Double-check the drive name on the right.

  2. On the next page, choose “fat32” but make sure this is the proper partition. You may revisit the “Create/Modify partitions” section to recheck.

  3. After formatting, you’ll be back at the partition selection page. This time, we have to select “A“, the large partition, which for us is “sda6“.

  4. If asked the filesystem to format with, select “ext4” as it is the most robust and compatible. You’ll be given a few warnings and could be asked to name the partition.

  5. Once “A” has been formatted, the installer will ask you if you wish to receive “OTA Updates“. Select “Yes” if you have allocated 30GB or more storage, and “No” if you haven’t.
  6. If the installer asks you about the bootloader you wish to use, choose “Grub2 EFI Bootloader” and wait until it writes some data to “B“.

Setting Up BlissOS

  1. Navigate to your BIOS on your next startup and in the same boot priority section, choose “Android-OS“.

  2. Once the PC boots using BlissOS, select the first option which is based on default settings and without any add-ons.

  3. If, for some reason, you’re stuck on the “have a truly blissful experience“, sadly you’ll need to go to “Advanced options” and start the OS without hardware acceleration. We hope the developers address this problem in future builds.
  4. After the boot-up animation ends, BlissOS will start and now you’re free to explore the OS as per your desires.

  5. It is generally recommended to sign in to your Google Account so you can access the Play Store and other features.

  6. In the Settings menu, you can use almost every feature you’ll typically find on an Android device. Moreover, BlissOS has its own customization layer with “Blissify“. Don’t worry, we won’t spoil the fun for you.

  7. Now you can enjoy the native Android experience on your PC/Laptop. You may play games from the Play Store but make sure to check with the developers to see if they allow an OS like this or key mapping tools.

Conclusion

BlissOS is one of many builds that are derived from Androidx86, porting Android to x86-based systems. While not as intuitive to install as say Windows, it can give you some experience if you want to install Linux or another OS later on.

Let’s address the elephant in the room. BlissOS is not as stable as Windows and you shouldn’t expect it to be. In our own experience, we found multiple infuriating issues. A community over at Reddit does exist, but you’ll often find yourself stranded if you find a “not so common” problem.

Other than that, the Windows Installer has made things relatively easier for the end user. It does, however, take away many features such as OTA updates, and does not promise stability on par with the EFI installation.

FAQs

Is BlissOS safe?

Being open source and part of a non-profit organization, BlissOS has all of its code available publicly.

What is the difference between GApps and FOSS?

FOSS is a free and open-source alternative to GApps, which installs from trusted developers. Similar to FOSS itself, these apps are also free and open source for those concerned about privacy.

What’s the best Androidx86 fork for gaming?

While BlissOS may not be the best for gaming, there certainly are other options like PrimeOS and PhoenixOS. However, you’ll need to conduct your research regarding the performance, stability, and security. We recommend using emulators instead, such as Bluestacks and Gameloop, since they’re supported by most game developers.

Notifications can be hell to deal with, especially when you have hundreds of apps to deal with in your inbox. Amidst this, it can be easy to miss out on important details. In recent years, both major mobile operating systems—iOS and Android—have introduced updates that prioritize certain notifications over others.

Calls are rightfully given the highest priority, considering they fulfil a phone’s primary function. But what happens if you miss an important call, and even worse, the notification for the missed call never appears? This guide will go in detail to explain the reasons behind the issue and try and break down the steps to isolate and eliminate the problem.

What Does “Missed Call Notification Not Showing” Mean?

The phrase ‘missed call notification not showing‘ doesn’t inherently indicate an error, but rather a bug or underlying issue. It means that when you receive a call, there’s no notification displayed in your notification pane afterward.

Missed Call Notification Not Showing

Most people wouldn’t notice this problem immediately. They might only discover it later when checking their call logs. In some cases, older calls might appear in notifications, but new incoming calls would still not be shown there.

Why are You Missing Your Call Notifications?

Users who have reported this issue on online forums have pointed out different reasons for the error occurring. However, some common ones include:

  1. Silenced notifications: Your phone app’s notifications may’ve been manually silenced to avoid any call notifications.
  2. Low volume: Your phone’s volume might’ve been reduced, which means you won’t hear or know about any potential incoming calls.
  3. Do Not Disturb: The Do Not Disturb mode may be blocking notifications, including those from the Phone app.
  4. App icon badges: Missed call indicators might be disabled on the Phone app icon.
  5. Software bug: The mobile operating system may be experiencing a glitch or a bug, preventing any sorts of alerts for incoming calls.
  6. Network issue: Your network carrier and connectivity problems might prevent your phone from receiving notification data.

How to Fix Missed Call Notification Not Showing?

Here are some of the steps you can take to isolate the issue and potentially prevent missed call notifications not showing up on your device.

NOTICE: These steps were replicated on the Stock Android interface (Pixel UI). Settings for your phone may vary.

1. Adjust the Ring Volume Settings

If you don’t hear your phone ringing for incoming calls, it’s likely that the ringer volume is silenced. Even though you might increase the volume using the buttons, that might not adjust the ringer specifically.

Here’s how to adjust the ring volume on your device:

  1. Tap or hold either of the physical volume buttons on your device.
  2. A volume slider will appear, often with a menu button on the top or bottom. Tap this menu button.
  3. A menu will appear with separate sliders for different volumes, including one for your phone’s ringer. Slide the ringer volume slider all the way to the desired level, one that’s loud enough for you to hear.

2. Check if You’re Within Network Range

While extremely rare, there can be situations where you might not receive a cellular signal, especially when traveling or in a region experiencing a widespread outage. In these cases, if someone calls you, you’ll only be notified when your phone next catches the network signal.

3. Check if Do Not Disturb or Airplane Mode is Enabled

Your second plan of action should be to look at functionality that might be deliberately preventing incoming call notifications. For this, you’ll need to check if Do Not Disturb (DND) or Airplane mode is enabled. DND essentially silences all incoming notifications and vibrations, including calls and text messages. Airplane mode disables all types of cellular and wireless signals from your phone.

Step 1: Disable Do Not Disturb Mode

Here’s how you can locate the Do Not Disturb settings and disable it (if enabled):

  1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
  2. Find “Notifications” and tap on it.
  3. Scroll down to find “Do Not Disturb,” and tap on it.
  4. If enabled, tap “Turn off now.”

Step 2: Disable Airplane Mode

Here’s how you can locate the Airplane mode settings and disable it (if enabled):

  1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
  2. Find “Network & internet,” and tap on it.
  3. Look for “Airplane mode,” and tap the toggle slider once to disable the setting (if enabled)

Method 4: Check if Phone App Notifications are Disabled

If there’s nothing wrong with your phone’s sound settings, chances are that notifications for the Phone app itself might be silenced. Here’s how to check the Phone notifications:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings.
  2. Locate and tap “Apps.”
  3. Select “See all apps.”
  4. Find your default calling app, which is usually labeled “Phone” on most Android phones.
Accessing the default caller app Settings
  5. Tap the app icon, then select “Notifications.”
  6. Check if the toggle for “Incoming calls” is enabled.
    Phone app’s notification Settings

Method 5: Turn off Caller ID and Spam Protection

The Google Phone app has a feature called “Caller ID & spam,” which blocks any incoming call notifications that it deems is likely to be spam or from an unknown number. Sometimes, it can mistake legit numbers and calls from reaching through to you.

Here’s how you can disable Spam Protection within the Google Phone app:

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap on the three vertical dots on the top right-hand side.
  3. In the drop-down menu, tap “Settings.”
    Accessing the Phone app Settings
  4. Tap on “Caller ID & spam.”
  5. On the screen that pops up, disable the toggle in front of “Caller ID & spam.”
    Caller ID & Spam Settings

Method 6: Reset App Preferences

If your calls aren’t ringing or showing up, a bug or glitch in your default calling app could be the culprit. This app is usually Google Phone, but some users might have a third-party option like Truecaller or Hiya. To troubleshoot, you can reset your app preferences. This will clear any default app settings, allowing you to choose a different calling app next time. This can help isolate the issue if it’s related to the caller app itself.

Here’s how you reset preferences for the default calling app:

  1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
  2. Tap on Apps > See all apps.
    Accessing app Settings
  3. On the top right-hand side of the screen, tap on the kebab (three vertical dot) menu icon.
  4. Choose “Reset app preferences.”
Resetting app preferences in device’s Settings

Method 7: Restart Your Device

The problem could also come from a more complex issue, like a bug or glitch within the operating system itself. These can be trickier to solve. However, it’s always wise to start with simple solutions, like restarting your device.

In most cases, a restart can refresh your system’s OS and clear any bugs or glitches that might be interfering with calls. It’s also worth noting that some devices may turn off unimportant notifications, including calls, when entering a power-saving state on low battery. In these cases, it is possible that your phone might not automatically switch back to the normal state after charging above a certain level.

Method 8: Disconnect All Bluetooth Devices

If you’re receiving a call and see the contact information on the screen alongside a visual prompt, but aren’t hearing an audio cue, it is possible that you have some Bluetooth devices connected to your phone that are sounding the ringtone.

In these cases, your ringtone and other system sounds with be routed to the paired Bluetooth device. When you disable or unpair a Bluetooth connection, the phone will be forced to ring the incoming call via the internal speaker itself.

Here’s how you can disconnect all Bluetooth devices from your phone:

  1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
  2. Select Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth.
    Accessing Connected Device’s Settings
  3. Uncheck the toggle in front of “Use Bluetooth.”

Method 9: Contact Your Network Carrier

There are often situations where a caller tries to reach you, but you don’t receive the call despite having no apparent issues on your end. This can sometimes be caused by a network error on your carrier’s side. In this case, it’s advisable to contact your network carrier first and inquire about the problem.

Method 10: Update Your Phone’s OS

If you’ve recently updated your device and have started facing this issue, there is a big chance that there is a problem with the new update that was pushed in by the manufacturer. In such cases, if the developer receives a huge number of complaints, a bug fix would soon be pushed out. This is why you should try to constantly check for updates and update you phone as soon as a new version is available.

Here’s how you can update your phone’s OS:

  1. Go to your phone’s Settings.
  2. Tap on System > System updates.
  3. If an update is available, tap on “Update.”

Back in the day, when LG still made phones, it used to implement a feature called “Secure Startup,” which, although intended to prevent unauthorised access to the device, often proved to be a stressful feature to bypass, even for a legitimate user.

It would display the prompt “Enter Password to Unlock 30/30 Attempts Remaining,” which was more of an error than a security feature. This guide will try and break down the entire procedure for bypassing this prompt and will discuss how to prevent it from appearing every time you boot up your device.

What is the “Enter Password to Unlock 30/30 Attempts Remaining” Error Message?

This security error message, ‘Enter Password to Unlock 30/30 Attempts Remaining,’ is actually a feature of LG’s Secure Startup. It gives users with 30 attempts to enter the correct password. However, if all attempts are exhausted, the device will be permanently locked out and will have to reset to factory settings. This reset will erase all data stored on the phone.

The “30/30 Attempts Remaining” Secure Startup Screen

In LG phones, the Secure Startup state is initiated before the phone loads the Android operating system. This is why it can sometimes be difficult to access your data remotely if you’re locked out in this state.

According to most people who have posted about a similar issue on online forums, the phone usually does not prompt them to enable Secure Startup when setting up a new phone. In most cases, most of the PIN codes, including the device lock, do not work to unlock the phone.

↪ Why Does This Error Occur?

LG hasn’t provided a reasonable statement regarding why this issue occurs, and since they’ve shut down their mobile division, the option to contact LG Support also isn’t available. But, since this is essentially meant to be a security feature, here’s why it may be happening:

  1. Data Security: This message, which prompts you to enter your Secure Startup PIN, appears during each boot cycle to ensure that your data remains safe from unauthorised access.
  2. Factory Reset Protection: Since the normal Android lock can be bypassed via factory resetting the phone, this message, and the Secure Startup state in particular, act as a barrier in between, essentially forcing the user to enter the correct PIN.
  3. Buying from the Used Market: If you are the second owner of your device, there’s a possibility that the previous owner enabled Secure Startup. This is why your set PIN code for the lock screen may not unlock the Secure Startup state.
  4. Old LG Device: Some of LG’s older models came with full-disk encryption enabled by default, which cannot be disabled. Newer phones running Android 10 and above do not support this type of encryption.

How to Solve this Error?

While this issue isn’t exactly an error message, there can be instances where the user may experience a consistent loop where none of the attempts seem to be working. In that case, there are a few workarounds or certain procedures that you could follow along to fix the issue, potentially.

Method 1: Contact the Previous Owner (Second-Hand Devices)

From across multiple online forums and LG’s responses over the years, we’ve discovered that the Secure State is almost always a setting that must be manually enabled and that the security pop-up cycle is not a bug. Therefore, it’s important to note that either you or someone else should have set the Secure Startup PIN.

Beware to ask the previous owner for the phone’s Secure Startup PIN

If you’ve recently purchased a phone and encounter this issue, your first course of action should always be to contact the original owner and inquire about the relevant details. It’s also possible that the device you purchased still contains the PIN that the previous owner, or one of the previous owners, forgot to remove before selling it to you.

Method 2: Contact Your SIM Carrier (Carrier Locked Phones)

If you have a carrier-locked device or a new phone, and are then encountering this issue, it’s best to contact your cellular service provider’s support and inquire about the problem.

Many people in online communities have reported fixing their issues this way. Keep in mind that before taking any drastic measures like resetting your phone to factory settings, your first priority should be to resolve the issue directly. As mentioned below, factory resetting is not always a permanent fix and should only be used as a last resort.

Method 3: Factory Reset Your Device (Remove Secure Startup)

If all else fails, your only option is to factory reset your device. However, if you do have important data on your phone, it’s best to contact a data recovery specialist instead of proceeding any further. Keep in mind that this method may not work for all models of LG devices.

Step 1: Reset Your Device to Factory Settings

To reset your phone to stock factory settings,

  1. Power off your device. You can do this by long-pressing the Power button and tapping “Power off.”
  2. Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons (until you see the phone’s logo) to enter the system recovery.
  3. From the menu, choose “Factory data reset.” You may need to use the physical buttons on the phone to navigate around the UI.
  4. When prompted to delete all user data, choose “Yes.”
  5. Choose “Yes” again to confirm.

Step 2: Bypass FRP Lock

Once your phone has been reset, you still would need a specific PIN (or an associated Google account) to activate the device. However, if you don’t have either of those, there is a workaround that involves bypassing the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) lock. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Connect to a Wi-Fi network during the initial startup.
  2. On the “Verify Password” screen, choose “Use My Google Account Instead.”
    Choose to proceed via Gmail
  3. When prompted to enter your email, select the “Change Keyboard” button located at the bottom right corner.
  4. On the “Manage keyboards” screen, long-press the Gboard toggle.
Long-press the keyboard button to open Input Settings
  5. In Settings, tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
  6. From the drop-down menu, select “Help & feedback.
    Choose “Help and feedback”
  7. Tap on “Delete or disable apps on Android.
  8. Tap on the hyperlinked text: “Tap to go to Application Settings.” This will take you to the App info section of the Settings.
Use the “Help” section to access the phone’s Settings

Step 3: Turn off Secure Startup via System Settings

Once you enter the device’s Settings page, you have complete freedom to change system settings as you wish. However, keep in mind that since you haven’t set a screen lock yet, any changes you make here will be reflected across the entire operating system.

  1. In the App info section, select “Settings.”
  2. On the “Settings” app settings, choose “Open.”
    Accessing Settings via App info
  3. Select “Fingerprints,” and then tap “Next.”
  4. On the screen prompting you to set a screen lock, choose “PIN.
  5. A prompt for “Secure start-up” might appear, asking if you want to require a PIN every time your phone reboots. Tap “No, thanks.
    Disabling Secure Startup
  6. Tap “Next” and then set up a PIN.

Step 4: Return to the Set-up Process

Once you’ve removed the Secure Startup option to appear every time you turn on your phone, head back to the startup process continuously tapping the “Back” button in the navigation bar.

  1. Head back to the set-up process.
  2. Continue with setting up the phone normally, like you would.
  3. Your phone will now not ask for a Secure Startup PIN when you boot up your device.

↪ Your Google Account “Can’t” Pull You Out of the Secure Startup State!

Most publications reporting on this issue have claimed that your Google account, specifically the Find My Phone feature, is capable of changing this PIN. However, this isn’t true.

The Secure Startup state is initialised even before the Android operating system, meaning the OS itself can’t intervene in the verification process. Plus, your Google account is only bound to work within Android itself.

Find My Phone can’t be used to unlock the Secure Startup state

You can however choose to factory reset your phone since you do have access to internet and can dial emergency calls, but if you’ve decided to wipe all data off, it’s better to do it the physical way.

Why is Removing the Secure Startup Important?

If you’ve decided to factory reset your phone, keep in mind that this security error message won’t automatically go away. The next time you start your phone, you’ll be fine for the initial setup, but after that, you’ll be greeted with the same security message each time.

To break out of this cycle, you’ll need to disable Secure Startup completely which is essentially the only way to make sure your phone is usable again. Otherwise, it’s like factory resetting your phone every time you restart the device. If you’ve inherited or purchased the phone from someone, you’ll need to contact the person in question since changing or removing this lock requires you to remember the old one.

Removing Secure Startup is Important if You’ve Forgotten the PIN

In some cases, the system may use a basic password stored in memory to boot the operating system initially. This bypasses the Secure Startup state and allows the first boot.

How to Disable Secure Startup?

It is important to understand that disabling Secure Startup will require you to factory reset your device if you don’t already know the Secure Startup PIN. Plus, doing so also removes an important layer of security from your device. It’s strongly recommended to keep it enabled unless you are stuck in a cycle where you can’t remember the PIN, or feel like the feature might be unnecessary for your use.

  1. Factory Reset: To disable Secure Startup, you’ll need to first perform a factory reset on your phone. This will erase all data in your phone.
  2. Set a New Lock Screen Password: Once you have access to the Android OS after the reset, go to Settings > Security > Screen lock. Choose and set a strong lock type for your Android lock screen.
  3. Disable Secure Startup: In the Security settings, tap on the option for Secure Startup. Look for the setting labeled “Require PIN to start device” and select “No thanks“.
  4. Reboot Your Device: This will disable Secure Startup, allowing your device to boot up without entering a PIN during startup.

This will disable Secure Startup. Your device will now boot up without entering a Secure Startup PIN since it will use the existing lock screen password stored in memory to load the Android operating system.

Conclusion

The Secure Startup can be a nuisance to deal with, especially if it consistently bugs you, locking you out of your device without prompting you to set a new PIN. For most people, this issue can often escalate to the point where they are permanently locked out of their devices with important data still on the phone. This is considering that if you don’t know the correct PIN, your only way out is a factory reset.

FAQs

Why does the “Enter Password to Unlock 30/30 Attempts Remaining” error message appear?

This error message is actually a privacy feature on older LG phones where the system would lock you out of the operating system until a particular PIN was entered correctly. Plus, if you exhausted all of your 30 tries, you would be completely locked out permanently and the only way out would be to remove all data on your device.

Should you disable Secure Startup?

If you’ve forgotten the Secure Startup PIN, it is advisable to use the workaround method to disable Secure Startup so that you aren’t prompted to enter the PIN every time you have to restart your device.

What is the legitimate way to bypass Secure Startup on LG devices?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question since it depends on the situation and the reason for the phone being locked. There is a chance that you may have forgotten the password yourself, or you may have purchased the phone from someone who hasn’t informed you about the situation with the device.
